1. Why did you decide to go to SES?
I decided to go to SES for a lot of different reasons. The main reason was that i didnt want to be just a number in Eastviews large school population. I also wanted a different learning environment, knowing that there had to be more to learning then sitting behind a desk all day listening to some teacher tell you things that you wont ever need to know again. To sum it up, i justkind of needed a new start.
2. What is something that you really like about being a student there?
The fact that despite us working on huge projects constantly, it usually ends up being worth something.
3. What class, assignment, trip or activity have you liked best so far?
Probably mt Poetry intensive theme, because if the large amounts of freedom they give us, and with it i get to do what i love to do.
4. What was the biggest change from Eastview to SES?
Teachers definitely expect much more out of you at SES in the fact that they dont tell you what to do but you are forced to take leadership upon yourself ans use your time wisely. The whole idea is to get us to grow up and be ready for the working world, where people wont always tell us precisely what to do.
5. What is your favorie thing about SES?
My favorite thing about SES is that we discuss what is happening in the real world rather then useless facts and USE what we learn instead of blowing it all away on the next test and forgetting about it.
SES website mission statement-The mission of the School of Environmental Studies is to be a community of leaders learning to enhance the relationship between humans and their environment.
